The Maksoud Foundation donated personal protective equipment including facemasks, shields, masks and gloves, to Long island State Veterans Home in Stony Brook, which provides skilled nursing care, adult day health care and short term rehabilitation to Veterans and has earned the reputation as a leading provider among the nation’s 156 State Veterans Homes,
“The Long Island State Veterans Home is on the front lines serving America’s heroes and we wanted to support them in the important life saving services that they provide for this vulnerable population,” said Hossam Maksoud, Pharm D, Chairman of the Maksoud Foundation which is a nonprofit based in Hempstead.
The Maksoud foundation is the charitable arm of the Community Care Rx, a full-service , long-term-care pharmacy based in Hempstead, NY. The foundation’s services include providing financial assistance to help vulnerable populations afford their prescriptions and other medical services and helping individuals navigate the complex maze of medications and medical services available from, national and private organizations.
“The Maksoud Foundation provides funding and works with our diverse network of providers to find affordable solutions for vulnerable populations who either cannot currently pay or at risk for being unable to pay for medicine or doctor visits,” said Dr. Maksoud, who is also the CEO and founder of Community Care Rx. “At the Maksoud Foundation, we believe that healthcare is a human right.”
